Defense this semester

My full committee is currently reading my dissertation. Our goal is a defense before Thanksgiving.

First draft complete

The first draft of my dissertation is away! Now my main adviser needs to read it thoroughly (which will probably take awhile), send me feedback, and I'll need to make that feedback before sending it to the rest of my dissertation advisory committee. After they've read it, and I've made any changes they want, then I can defend it, hopefully in early-to-mid fall.

Writing...

I believe that I have just finished running the last model needed for my dissertation research, and have also finished reading the literature that has been produced on my topic since I wrote the proposal. Hence, I am starting the writing process. I am still hoping to be able to defend by mid-to-late summer.

Analyzing...

Having spent all summer collecting data, and the early fall doing content analysis of collected texts, I'm now starting into the actual statistical modeling phase, after which there will be much reading, writing, and defending... hopefully by May!

Proposal defense now at 2:00pm EDT

Please note that my proposal defense start time has changed to 2:00pm EDT.

However, it should still end by 3:45 or 4:00.

Our apologies for any inconvenience that this change causes.
